250 Years of Service
Honoring Those Who Served
November 2026
As America celebrates its 250th birthday this year, we’re reminded that every chapter of our nation’s story has been protected by people willing to serve. This November, we pause to honor the men and women of the United States Armed Forces, whose courage and sacrifice have safeguarded the freedoms we enjoy every day.
This year’s national Veterans Day theme, “Veterans Helping Veterans and Their Families,” captures something we see across BEK’s service area all the time. Veterans don’t stop serving when they take off the uniform. They lead local VFW and American Legion posts, organize honor guards, drive fellow veterans to appointments, and check in on families who are navigating life after service. That spirit of neighbors looking out for neighbors is the same spirit that built our cooperative.
At BEK Communications Cooperative, we’re proud to count veterans among our members, our employees, and our friends and family. Some served overseas, others supported the mission here at home, and all of them answered the call when it mattered most.
We also know that for veterans in rural North Dakota, distance can be a real challenge. VA clinics, specialists, and support services may be hours away. Reliable broadband helps close that gap, making it possible for veterans to attend telehealth appointments, manage benefits online, and stay connected with the people who matter most. Keeping our rural communities connected is one more way we can support those who served.
On Wednesday, November 11, we invite you to thank a veteran, listen to their story, or support a local veterans organization. Let’s honor their legacy not only with words, but with the way we live, serve, and care for one another.
To every veteran and military family: thank you from all of us at BEK Communications Cooperative. Your service is honored, and it will never be forgotten.
