Applications Now Open for the 2027 FRS Youth Tour!

November 2026

High school students in BEK’s cooperative service area, this is your chance to see Washington, D.C. up close! The Foundation for Rural Service (FRS) is now accepting applications for the 2027 Youth Tour, a one-of-a-kind educational experience taking place June 7-11, 2027.

For more than 30 years, the FRS Youth Tour has brought rural students to the nation’s capital to discover how broadband and telecommunications connect small towns like ours to the wider world. It’s much more than a sightseeing trip. Students get a seat at the table, sharing what life is like in rural America with the lawmakers, regulators, and industry leaders who are shaping the country’s digital future.

What’s in store for you:

  • Visit iconic sites like the U.S. Capitol, national monuments, and the Smithsonian museums.
  • See how broadband powers learning, innovation, and opportunity in rural communities.
  • Meet with policymakers and regulators and speak up for the people and places you call home.
  • Make new friends from rural communities across the country who share your drive and values.

Youth Tour is a leadership journey that builds confidence, sharpens your understanding of how decisions get made, and creates friendships that last long after you’re home. Students come back ready to make a real difference in their hometowns.

Here’s your opportunity to represent BEK in Washington, D.C. Experience the heart of our country and bring home insights that will shape your future.

The 2027 FRS Yough Tour Flyer provides more information about the trip. Visit the FRS Youth Tour page for details and to apply.
