BEK Communications is looking for dynamic Outside Sales Executives to join our team.


In this role, you'll be out in the field, meeting with potential clients face-to-face, introducing them to our wide range of telecommunications, surveillance, and advertising services. This is a unique opportunity to work independently, build strong client relationships, and directly impact revenue growth.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Door-to-Door Sales: Drive new business by meeting with small to mid-market companies in rural North Dakota. You'll be on the front lines, introducing BEK’s suite of services to potential clients.
  • Sales Planning & Research: Develop strategic sales plans and conduct research to identify new business opportunities.
  • Proposal Development: Create tailored proposals for clients, presenting a range of solutions including hardware, software, and services.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with existing clients while prospecting for new ones.
  • Exceed Sales Goals: Meet or surpass sales quotas and revenue targets by closing deals and driving customer satisfaction.
  • Product Knowledge: Leverage your ability to learn and understand new technologies to effectively sell BEK services.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • 3-5 Years of Door-to-Door Sales Experience: Proven track record of success in outside, face-to-face sales, ideally in technology, telecom, or advertising.
  • Consultative Selling Skills: Strong experience in identifying customer needs and presenting solutions.
  • Self-Motivation & Drive: A desire to succeed and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex solutions in an easily understandable way.

We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Network Service Technician (NST) reporting from our Steele, ND office locations. The candidate who fills this position must reside within 30 minutes of Steele or will be granted 6 months from the date of acceptance to relocate if required.


Network Service Technician provides telecommunications, data, and IPTV services to customers by constructing, maintaining, operating and servicing, telephone lines, instruments and related equipment. Conducts tests and inspections of products, service, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.


Computer skills are required along with experience in personal computer hardware and software maintenance and emphasis on internet applications. Ability to perform tasks such as installation, configuration, diagnosing, preventative maintenance and networking of telecommunications services in both business and residential environments.


Minimum education/experience required for the position is: knowledge and skills usually acquired through two years technical training or four years experience. Experience and knowledge in residential networks and entertainment technologies are desired. A+ certification is a plus.


Qualified applicants must be able to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a prompt, helpful and friendly manner. They must possess outstanding problem solving, communications and technical skills, along with a strong work ethic. Excellent customer service and communication skills, attention to detail and willingness to be trained on other systems within the company, as well as within the industry, are vital qualities. Ability to work on call and evenings and weekends as needed. Proficiency with computers and basic networking experience is required. Technician must be a self starter and motivated to learn quickly. Ability to operate hand tools and perform professional cabling installations is key.


Responsibilities are varied, including installation, repair and maintenance of FTTH facilities; programming, and trouble shooting of BEK IPTV system, high speed data networks, alongside voice, IP Voice and data products. Install, maintain, repair of customer equipment and IP services. The employee will also promote the sale of products and features and educate customers on the use of equipment. Applicant may be asked to fill extended stay duties away from reporting post when required. Performs all other duties assigned by Supervisor.

General Summary:

BEK Communications Cooperative is seeking a highly motivated, self-starting individual capable of meeting the requirements of OSP Field Engineer. Performs engineering duties relating to the provision of Communications Plant construction, design and maintenance engineering, and associated development of telecommunications facilities.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Coordinates and performs engineering activities associated with the provision of OSP facilities design and implementation required for expansion, rearrangements, and maintenance in accordance with RUS, NEC and BEK standards.
  • Engineers and prepares work order documents for projects and routes relating to the construction and maintenance of buried and underground outside Plant middle, second and last mile distribution cable systems.
  • Engineers and prepares documents for Optical Fiber transport and distributions systems from the Central office up to the point of premise demarcation.
  • Provides construction deployment estimates to be within 10% of actual cost.
  • Instigates and follows through in the acquisition of relevant and required private and/or public easements, rights-of-way and governmental permits.
  • Updates and constructs new drawings and associated information for all buried Plant assets for submission to computer drafting personnel, utilizing both manual and automated drafting systems.
  • Maintains current knowledge of new technologies and systems as they are developed.
  • Ability to quickly gain knowledge of Company networks, service territories, construction management and Company culture.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisory personnel.

Education and Experience:

  • 2 years of related Telecommunications Plant Construction
  • Comprehensive understanding of engineering, construction and maintenance.
  • Keen knowledge of Microsoft Office and various software solutions, including Visio.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in various stages of development, each with a unique timeline.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are key. The ideal person for this position is a team player, personable, professional, upbeat, and energetic, takes initiative, uses tact and diplomacy to promote good Customer and professional relationships.
  • The successful candidate must have the initiative to resolve problems and seek answers independently and is enthusiastically persistent until goals are achieved.
  • Ability to hold a ND Class D drivers License with the intent to achieve a Class A within 1 year of hire.
