Spots Filling Fast!
February 2026
Spots are filling quickly for the 2026 Foundation for Rural Services (FRS) Youth Tour to Washington, D.C. Each year, the FRS brings students from across the country to our nation’s capitol for an unforgettable week of learning, leadership, and exploration. This June, the FRS is welcoming 100 students and 25 chaperones.
BEK is an FRS member and encourages youth within the BEK service area to register for the trip. Although registration doesn’t officially close until April 1, spots are quickly filling up.
The Youth Tour will take place June 1–5, 2026, and is open to students ages 15–17 at the time of the tour. This unique experience focuses on how our federal government works, including legislative and agency processes. It also highlights the critical importance of broadband in connecting rural America to the rest of the world. Along the way, students get to explore our nation’s capital, meet new friends from rural communities across the country, and build skills that will stay with them for a lifetime.
