Celebrating Local Businesses
Made Local Showcases Pride of Dakota Entrepreneurs
January 2026
BEK Communications Cooperative is proud to continue its mission of supporting local communities by shining a spotlight on North Dakota entrepreneurs through its original TV series, Made Local, hosted by Lori Hinz.
In partnership with Pride of Dakota, BEK TV recently featured 10 Pride of Dakota member businesses in special Made Local segments filmed during the annual Pride of Dakota Holiday Showcase in Bismarck. These segments highlight the hard work, creativity, and dedication of local business owners who are making a difference in our state.
This collaboration reflects BEK’s ongoing commitment to encouraging members and viewers to shop local and support homegrown businesses, especially during the holiday season and beyond. By sharing these stories, BEK TV helps connect viewers with the people behind the products they see at local markets, events, and stores across the state.
Pride of Dakota was founded in 1985 to create a recognizable brand that highlights products made in North Dakota. What started with about 20 businesses has grown to more than 500 member companies today, all supported through marketing and business development resources to help local businesses succeed.
Each of the 10 businesses now has been featured in special broadcasts on BEK TV, giving viewers an inside look at the stories behind the products, including why these entrepreneurs started their businesses, what drives them, and how buying local helps strengthen North Dakota communities.
If you missed any of the segments or want to watch them again, all of them are available on demand on BEK TV+, https://www.bektv.plus/series/madelocalnd
Supporting local businesses supports local communities, and BEK is proud to help tell these stories right where our members live and work.
